About the artist: Corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts. People's Artist of the RSFSR. Laureate of the Stalin Prize (1949). Graduated from MUZhVZ in the workshop of A.M. Vasnetsov and A.S. Stepanov in 1918. Master of industrial and lyrical landscape. Participant of exhibitions since 1916. In 1921 he exhibited with the World of Art group. B.N. Yakovlev attended all major Soviet exhibitions ("Artists of the Russian Federation for 15 Years", "Industry of Socialism", All-Union Art Exhibitions, etc.). He taught at VGIK (1956-1963). He acted as one of the organizers of the Academy of Arts in 1922. The artist's personal exhibitions were held in Moscow (1943, 1966) and in Kiev (1959). The works of B.N. Yakovlev are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, many regional museums
