About the artist: Soviet and Russian artist. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. Nikolai Ustinovich Martynov was born in 1932 in the village of Rudnya, Pskov region, in 1957 he graduated from the V. V. I. Mukhina. In 1964 - 1978 he took part in expeditions and creative trips to Yamal, Taimyr, Chukotka, visited Franz Josef Land, drifting stations of the North Pole, worked as part of the expedition of the Institute of the Arctic and Antarctic on the Severnaya Zemlya Archipelago. In 1981 he was elected a Full Member of the Geographical Society of the USSR at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. In 1998 he was awarded the honorary title of "Person of the Year" by the London International Biographical Center, and was also included in the book "2000 Outstanding People of the Planet". Since 2003, Nikolai Ustinovich headed the department of arts of the Petrovskaya Academy of Sciences and Arts and is its vice-president. Participation in exhibitions: 1957: All-Union art exhibition dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the October Revolution. Moscow Exhibition of works by Leningrad artists dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the founding of Leningrad.
