Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. Born in 1946 in the Penza region. Gena began to draw at the age of seven. At this age, his parents took him to an art studio. Later he graduated from the painting and pedagogical department of the Republican Art School, then the Kharkov Art Institute and 37 years ago was sent to work in Vinnytsia. Working at the art factory, he implemented many projects for the artistic decoration of the city and the region. Monumental mosaic works, stained glass windows, created by the hands of Soldatov G.V., still decorate Vinnytsia. Several paintings by the artist became the property of the local art and local history museums. And many more canvases by the original talented artist remained in the family collections of Vinnytsia residents. The artist dedicated several paintings to the construction of the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. In the catalogs of works by Soldatov G.V. his favorite genre is the portrait.
