Bronze, large, just over 1 1/8" (1.14”) diameter of domed form. Broad band decorated originally, now obscured by degradation from burial. The edge slotted for the captive cross pin. Worn in multiples attached to leather or heavy wool jerkins, this example is easily capable of absorbing a sword blow without failure. Large iconic representative of these protective dress accessories. Professionally refurbished with the pure silver surface restored and suspended from an 18” modern sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
