Description

Silvered bronze, about 5/8" height. Intricately cast by the lost wax process. The larger form is generally acknowledged as exchange objects (money) and frequently is encountered with pieces chipped out. This example was clearly more important and likely made for an important votive (sacrificial) purpose. Unlike the larger examples, the bell edge has had chips removed. Found in Ireland, England (Scotland), and Western Europe. Very rarely encountered. Professionally refurbished with pure silver overlay on a modern Sterling silver neck chain. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
