Description

Period of the universal Christian conversion and the early Crusades. Size 7 with broad (3.1mm) rounded face band with slightly thickened bottom in the Roman taste. Faceted oval bezel cut with a lattice pattern. Used to impress the signature of the owner in wax or clay. Language differences and illiteracy were barriers to trade. Signets allowed for universal verification of a signature facilitating trade at distance. Professionally refurbished with the pure silver surface restored.
