RARE VIKING SHIELD RING 850-1050 AD 11 1/2

Description

Exceedingly rare genuine Viking shield ring, handcrafted by a Viking artisan over 1000 years ago! It is size 11 1/2 with a characteristic overlapping prong band and large (just under 1 3/8") bezel with particularly high relief decoration in transverse bands flanking stipple bands. The terminals with stipple tooling. It has been professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. See the reference image which shows the process.
