Gilt bronze, over 7/8" total height. formed as four circles in an oval border. This form is thought to derive from the Medici family coat of arms. The Medici coat of arms displays five circles and is used throughout Florence as a decorative element. As used here, the symbol probably simply refers to Florence indicating a citizen of Florence, and thus, a subject of the Medici family. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat surface restored and suspended from a modern gilt Sterling silver neck chain. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
