Description
A molded porcelain plate that has a pattern of a basket weave with fringed napkins on top. A bouquet of hand painted morning glory flowers is the colorful design on the napkins. The plate has a rounded shallow foot. The foot and base are glazed.
There is an incised English Registry mark on the base. It is hard to read the mark but it appears to be for March (W) 22 of 1881 (E). The maker’s mark below it is also not very clear but appears to be “EJDR in , which would denote E J D Bodley from Burslem. They produced ceramics between approximately 1875-92. The number 9442 with the number 4 above it is also hand painted in violet near the foot.
