The exterior of the egg is enameled with multicolor scrollwork featuring foliate, floral and geometrical patterns manufactured using the cloisonne technique. Mounted on a stand leg made in the same design. The ware is encrusted with a Ruby cabochon, on the top. Hallmarked with 84 Russian silver proof and manufacturer marks.
