The spas at Hakone have increased by this time to 15, but 7 spas were what the Edoites knew. Hakone was their favorite resorts. This picture is one of the 7 spa set, depicts the spa of Dogashima. The rest of the spas are: Yumoto. Tono-Sawa, Miyano-Shita, Soko-Kura, Kiga and Ashino-Yu. The window overlooks the scenics of Dogashima spa. Man and woman are in relaxed mood. Their features are peculiarly sharp and they do not have the slender build of KIYONAGA's latter-day figures but rather stoutish. Red dominates the coloration, the distinct characteristic of KIYONAGA during Anei period (1770s).
