This marvelous Lenox set of 4 dinner or display dishes are from their historical collection, having been created by artist Minga Pope Patchin in 1933. The artist used old paintings and prints from the 1800s to create these historic scenes. The first 3 plates are in brown and cream and the fourth in green and cream with fluted edges. 1) The first lovely plate depicts State Street in Boston, 1849 with a green backstamp [1906-1930]: L within a wreath, Lenox: Lenox Historical China painted by Mingo Pope Patchin 1933, From old paintings and prints of the Period, Copyright. 2) The second lovely plate depicts the Old Castle Garden in Central Park, New York with a gold backstamp [1953-1988]."Lenox with a wreath containing a L, The Old New York Plates, painted by Minga P. Patchin, 1933, From old drawings of the Period, Limited Edition Series No. 1, Copyright." 3) The third lovely plate depicts the Mission San Luis Rey De Francia, California 1802 with a green backstamp [1906-1930] L within a wreath, Lenox: Lenox Historical China, painted by Mingo Pope Patchin, 1933, From old paintings and prints of the Period, Copyright. Each of these plates have thirteen gold stars on their border which symbolizes the original 13 American colonies. 4) The fourth lovely plate depicts On The Mississippi, 1860 with a river boat and a gold backstamp: L within a wreath, Lenox [1953-1988]. Measurements for these fabulous creations are: Diameter=10-1/2 inches. These beautiful plates have been well cared for, gently displayed and is in excellent vintage condition, free from chips, cracks, crazing or other imperfections with gold gilt intact.
