Description
Late 19th Century French Armand Frenais "Blanc" 8 1/2" Pudding Spoons - Set of Three. This Antique Set of Spoons were found in Paris over 25 years ago.
The Spoons have two Maker's Marks in the Bowl: "AF 84 surrounding an anchor in a square box" and "BLANC in a rectangle box". AF was Arnad Frenais (1877-1927).
Marks of silver-plated standard cutlery (forks & spoons - 21 cm long), were manufactured using métal blanc (brass) as a base metal for silvering.
The silver-plating designation, a rectangular box with an anchor, A.F. initials and two digits (84) shows the amount of silver (in grams), used for silvering of two dozen spoons. These Spoons were manufactured in the late 19th Century.
The Spoons are in very good condition with minor scratches as a result of age and normal use. On the back of the handle is a floral and tablet design that would have allowed for an engraved monogram to be added. These Spoons do not have a monogram.
The Spoons measure 8 1/2" Length x 1 3/4" Width at the Bowl. The Handle measures 5 5/8" Length.
These Spoons would make a lovely addition to your collection or a really nice present for a 25th Wedding Anniversary, for a top table at a wedding or just as a lovely present.
