Description of this plate in the 1981 guide- Pairpoint's First Fifty Plates reads: Featured in the center of this plate is the Massachusetts state flower, the Trailing Arbutus or Mayflower (named by the Pilgrims who saw the rise of the new leaves over the brown of the previous year's foliage as a parallel to their own rise over great hardships). The Mayflower is an evergreen vine, or creeper, with coarse leathery leaves which in early spring bears clusters of delicate pink flowers of exquisite fragrance. The plate's four flowers represent our fourth convention. On a window sill, these cup plates capture the sun beautifully, further enhancing the intricate designs & color.Condition: Excellent condition.
