Two Chinese Export Samson Armorial Dishes

Description

A pair of 19th-century Chinese export porcelain plates, each decorated with a central European-style family crest supported by heraldic animals, surrounded by colorful floral motifs and a cobalt blue and gilt border. The rims feature decorative panels with gold "T" monograms and winged elements. Marked on the underside with red pseudo-Chinese characters. Some wear and glaze loss present. One repaired. Each dish measures approximately 9 1/2 inches in diameter.
