Title: Oil painting Silence and sun in the yard Oksana Kalenyuk Description: NoAAA5074 The oil painting on Cardboard titled "Silence and Sun in the Yard" captures a deeply nostalgic and tender moment, encapsulating the serene beauty of rural life. With its expressive impasto technique and vibrant palette, the composition evokes the warmth of a spring afternoon and the quietude of a countryside home bathed in sunlight. The viewer is instantly transported to a humble village courtyard where time slows, and the soul is invited to rest. In the foreground, flowering trees dominate the left and right corners, their branches alive with delicate blossoms in soft whites and gentle pinks. These blooms signal the heart of spring, their gentle presence contrasting with the bold strokes used to depict the surrounding landscape. The trunks of the trees are painted with swirling textures, mixing creamy whites, warm browns, and ochres that reflect the thick, tactile quality of bark and sun-kissed surface. The central area reveals a modest, whitewashed house with bright turquoise window shutters. The house, although simple, exudes character and history. The thick layers of paint that shape the walls and roof give the building a sense of permanence and belonging-an immovable part of the scene, like an old friend watching over the yard. The blue hues of the shutters and shadows contrast strikingly with the lush, sun-drenched greens and yellows of the garden, suggesting the interplay of light and shadow during a tranquil afternoon. On the front porch, two figures sit close together-possibly family members-sharing a peaceful moment. One wears a bright yellow garment, standing out against the blue surroundings and drawing the eye to the human presence within this natural setting. Their relaxed posture suggests calm conversation or quiet contemplation, a moment free from urgency, surrounded by comfort and familiarity. The garden in front of the house explodes in a patchwork of greens, ochres, and golden yellows. Thick daubs of paint shape the uneven ground, with visible brush marks adding texture and movement. The curved stepping stones that lead through the grass hint at the habitual paths worn by time and care. A play of shadows across the grass gives dimension, creating a sense of dappled sunlight filtering through unseen branches.
