Title: Oil painting Where childhood is on the grass Oksana Kalenyuk Description: NoAAA5093 The oil painting on Cardboard titled "Where Childhood Is on the Grass" is a vibrant and nostalgic reflection of simple rural life, where memory and emotion bloom as vividly as the colors across the canvas. Using thick, expressive impasto brushstrokes, the artist evokes a world filled with innocence, warmth, and the unhurried rhythm of long summer days. The scene captures more than a house and its surroundings-it portrays the essence of a place where laughter once echoed, where barefoot footsteps ran across the grass, and where time felt infinite. At the center of the composition stands a modest village house with whitewashed walls and a warm ochre roof, its texture created with layered, confident strokes of earthy yellow, orange, and brown. The windows, painted in dark hues of brown and blue, seem to hold stories inside them-quiet witnesses to lives lived in joy and routine. A small wooden bench rests outside, welcoming, weathered by sun and years, a place where grandparents might sit or where children pause mid-play. To the left of the house, an array of colorful beehives catches the eye-brightly painted in red, orange, yellow, and blue. These cheerful boxes are not just practical-they're playful, like building blocks from a child's imagination, suggesting the interweaving of daily labor and wonder. Their colors contrast vividly with the green lawn, adding rhythm and energy to the composition while anchoring it in the authenticity of rural life. The foreground is a lush, textured patchwork of greens, yellows, and earthy browns, representing the grass where childhood unfolded. It is wild in places, worn in others, dotted with sunlit highlights and shadows, full of movement and depth. This ground, painted with confident swirls and strokes, becomes almost symbolic-more than just a surface, it is the foundation of memory, a place that holds the imprint of running feet, sprawling picnics, games, and dreaming under trees. The trees that frame the house are alive with deep greens and bursts of red and blue, their leaves swaying in an unseen breeze. They form a protective, almost enchanted border around the home, keeping it safe in its small universe. Above them, glimpses of sky-rich blues and subtle turquoises-peek through, suggesting a clear, warm day, the kind that stretches endlessly in a child's mind.
