The Symbolism of Basket Weaving in My Art In my work, the basket weaving motif is more than a decorative element; it is a powerful symbol of purpose, resilience, and the quiet beauty of timing. Inspired by the timeless story of the Pot and the Basket, this motif reflects a universal truth: everyone has their season to shine. In the story, the Pot boasts of its ability to carry water, while the Basket, with its woven gaps, is dismissed as useless. Yet, when the season shifts and the rains cease, it is the Basket that becomes essential carrying the village’s harvest with grace and strength. This narrative mirrors the rhythms of life, where talents and purposes may not always be immediately visible or celebrated, but that does not diminish their value.
