Description: Philip Burne-Jones was a British painter, born on October 1, 1861, in London, England, and died on June 21, 1926; Notable portraits include those of Rudyard Kipling, Sir Edward Poynter, and Henry James; Burne-Jones was popular in fashionable society and painted portraits of many well-known people throughout his career. His work was exhibited in prestigious galleries in London and Paris, including eleven times at the Royal Academy between 1898 and 1918, and at the Paris Salon of 1900. Framing a watercolor under an arch-shaped mat and glass is a traditional method that protects the painting while providing a unique, classic presentation.
