Title: Oil painting To the other side of the river Oksana Kalenyuk Description: №AAA4119 This oil painting canvas, titled "To the other side of the river", This oil painting on canvas captures a tranquil rural scene where a group of villagers crosses a rustic wooden bridge over a calm river. The rich textures and earthy colors create a sense of depth and movement, immersing the viewer in the warm and nostalgic atmosphere of a countryside setting. The composition draws the eye towards the weathered wooden bridge, which serves as a focal point. Its planks and railings appear rough and uneven, suggesting years of use by the local villagers. The bridge extends diagonally across the canvas, creating a strong sense of perspective and leading the viewer’s gaze towards the distant houses in the background. The figures walking across, dressed in vibrant shades of red and blue, add a human element to The painting, bringing warmth and life to the scene. The river below reflects the golden hues of the autumn foliage and the dark shadows of the surrounding trees. The artist's expressive brushstrokes give the water a slightly distorted, shimmering quality, capturing the play of light on its surface. The reflections of the trees and bridge are subtly broken up by ripples, hinting at a gentle current moving beneath. In the background, a small village with red-roofed houses peeks out from behind a dense forest. The trees are painted in warm autumnal shades of gold, amber, and deep green, contrasting beautifully with the cooler tones of the sky. The village appears peaceful and welcoming, a destination that the figures on the bridge seem to be heading towards. The placement of the houses adds to the sense of depth, making the landscape feel expansive and inviting. Above, the sky is painted in soft purples and muted blues, suggesting an early morning or late afternoon light. The use of thick, impasto brushstrokes gives the sky a textured, almost sculptural quality, adding to the overall expressiveness of The painting. The scene evokes a feeling of nostalgia, of simple daily life in a quiet village, where people move at a slower pace, in harmony with nature. The combination of rich textures, bold colors, and dynamic brushwork makes this painting a captivating representation of rural life, filled with warmth, movement, and emotion.
