ARTIST: Brikulets Viktor MikhailovichBorn on November 23, 1924, in the village of Markivtsi, Khmelnitsky region. Graduated from the Kharkov Art School (1951). Teachers in the specialty: V. Mironenko, A. Safargalin. Painter and graphic artist. Works in the field of composition on Shevchenko themes, psychological expressive portraits. In painting there is an inherent feeling of major and life-affirming, lyrical, using the traditions of realism and the achievements of impressionism. Depicting the nature of the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine, he painted iconostases for the church. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1998). Honored Artist of Ukraine (2007). Awarded the Order of Carl Fabergé, III degree. Belongs to the Kharkov school of realist artists. Participated in exhibitions since 1954. Main works: “I suffer, I am tormented, but I do not repent” (1961), “Poetess N. Kharasailo” (2000), “Hetman Mazepa” (2000), “T. Shevchenko" (1961); psychological expressive portraits: “I. Gurina" (1986), "V. Kvashi" (1987), "I. Zubkivsky", "N. Gogol" (1988), "Dmitry the Apostle" (1994), "Mazepa" (2001), "G. Gulevichivna" (1997), "Russian cultural figures V. Krichevsky", "A. Slastena", "M. Gavrilko" (1997-1998), "Patriarch Mstislav" (1998), "V. Yavorivsky", "R. Chilachava", "L. Guzara" (2002); views of the Poltava region, Kharkov region and Crimea: “The Khorol River” (1980), “Rain over Pslom” (1989), “Silver Silence”, “Old Poplars” (1994); still lifes: “Autumn flowers in a crystal vase”, “Chrysanthemums” (1990), “Still life with a blue vase” (1991), “Still life with peonies” (1993); iconostasis for the church: Dmitry Solunsky in Romodan (Mirgorod district, 30 icons, 1990-1991) and for St. Nicholas Church in Oktyabrsky (Poltava region; 17 icons, 1993-1994). The works are stored in the collections of museums in Mirgorod, museums in Poltava, museums in Bolshie Sorochintsy, museums in Vovnyanka, and in the Directorate of Art Exhibitions in Kyiv. Lived and worked in Mirgorod, Poltava region (since 1968).
