Title: Leica III (Model F) Rangefinder Camera With Leitz Elmar 50mm f/3.5 – 1938
Description: This is a Leica III (Model F) screw-mount rangefinder camera, body serial 309392, produced in 1938, together with a Leitz Elmar 50mm f/3.5 collapsible lens, serial 127204.
The body and lens are a correct, period-matched combination from the pre-war era.The camera was fully working the last time it was used, approximately two years ago.
At that time, all shutter speeds—including the slow speeds—were operating correctly, and the rangefinder was aligned with usable contrast.
The lens focused smoothly, collapsed properly, and the aperture blades moved freely. Please note: the camera has not had a recent CLA.
It has not been recently tested with film, and due to its age, routine servicing may be advisable for optimal use.
It is being sold accordingly.Cosmetic wear is consistent with age and use.
The body is covered in brown vulcanite, which is less common than the standard black covering.
The chrome finish shows normal light wear; no major dents observed. The lens glass appears clear on inspection, with no obvious fungus or heavy haze.
Minor cleaning marks consistent with age may be present.
