Description

Gilt bronze. Size 1 ¾ for wear on the small finger between the first two joints as was the custom. Rounded face band 1.3mm width with hatched shoulders. Round bezel, the face with relief concentric circles representing the evil eye. It was believed that the evil eye or evil glance could cause misfortune and that it was necessary to employ protection in the form of an amulet or ring which could repel the evil. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
