Delicate example, just about 3/4" (0.72") total height, of iconic form. Fine full medially ridged rounded section with the back concave. Made by the lost wax process. Surface lightly textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity. For Vikings, the heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, and integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is said Hrungnir, with whom Thor dueled (assisted by a sorceress) had a heart of stone.
