VIKING WARRIOR'S WEDDING RING, SIZE 6

Description

9th-11th century AD. Silvered bronze, size for the small finger as was the custom. 3.5mm band with a low rounded face. Made with a core filling the inside which distributed the flowing metal and allowed for slower cooling. The core was then laboriously removed by hand and the inside of the ring polished. Remnants of the core are clear inside the ring. Surface lightly textured overall from burial. Vikings exchanged rings on the pommel of the groom's sword. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
