Danelaw England, 866-1067AD. Gilt bronze, size 4 for the small finger as was the custom. 1.8mm width, with a near flat face. The Danelaw, encompassing territory which spread from London to East Anglia, through the Midlands and up to the north of England, was populated by Vikings. The late eighth century and early ninth century was a time of action, land-grabs, conquest and raiding parties. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 14karat gold overlay restored. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
