About the artist: Over a career spanning half a century, Slim Aarons (1916–2006) captured the golden age of wealth, privilege, beauty, and leisure through his portrayal of high society, aristocracy, authors, artists, business icons, and celebrities. His work documented a world of elegance and ease that existed apart from the cultural and political upheavals of the latter twentieth century.
