Description: Painted in March 1995, this lyrical riverside watercolour by British artist Tony Herbert (1927–2024) captures the character of Walberswick, a small village on the Suffolk coast known for its estuarine views and traditional fishing community. The scene looks across the water toward a line of dark, weathered huts and sheds, dotted with moored boats and quiet industry. A red flag on one mast provides a vivid focal point against the muted sky, while a white dinghy sits in the shallow foreground near the bank. Walberswick has long been associated with artists — from Philip Wilson Steer to the early 20th-century plein air painters of the Camden Town Group.
