The painting has excellent provenance having come from the artists estate sale in Paris. Mazeilie lived and worked in Montmartre, with a studio on the famous Place du Tertre. His love of the coast led him to also maintain a studio on the Brittany coastline. Born in Clichy, Hauts-de-Seine, Paris in early 1924, Mazeilie painted coastal scenes in Brittany, Parisian landscapes and architecture, Venetian Cityscapes, and portraiture. He moved to the USA in 1957, returning to France briefly for a few months in 1958, then arriving back in early 1959 to settle in San Diego California where he applied for naturalisation and became a longstanding figure in the artist's centre at Spanish Village in San Diego between approximately 1967-1974. He had married in San Diego in 1964. In the late 1970's he returned to France and continued to paint and sketch right up to 2019 (some of his later work is dated). Mazeilie's gentle, impressionist style fits into any interior environment, contemporary or classic. Condition report: The painting is in good and sound condition, clean.
