Description

This is the U.S. Navy Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS) insignia. The military badge was established in March 1980 to recognize enlisted personnel with specific skills and knowledge in naval aviation activities. The insignia is a silver-metal wing pin featuring a shield with an anchor in the center and a scroll below the shield. Qualification requires completing the Enlisted Aviation Personal Qualification Standards (PQS), passing a written exam, and passing a review board of senior enlisted personnel. The process typically takes about a year to complete.
