Short description:Louis-Albert Carvin (1875 - 1951) was a French sculptor known for his bronze sculptures (mostly animalistic). Later he began to work on classical genre sculpture such as Lassitude (Fatigue) and Maternity (Motherhood). Sculpted in plaster, marble, works were also cast in bronze. He created images of dogs, birds, wild cats, horses and other creatures, the source of inspiration for which, in fact, are episodes from the fables of La Fontaine. Born on August 7, 1875 in Paris, France, Carvin went on to study with Emmanuel Fremiet and Georges Gardet at the ecole des Beaux-Arts, and then became a member of the French Society of Arts.
Exhibited at the Salon from 1891 to 1930 (according to other sources, from 1894 to 1933). His earliest work was the large composition "La Becquee" (a group of feeding birds).
