ABOUT THE ARTIST: Shkurko Anatoly Nikiforovich – was born on 29th of October 1924 in Smolin village Chernigiv region. He studied at the Kharkiv Art College, and at the I. Repin Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Mentors: Frents R., Olkhovsky D., Sorokin I. Worked in the field of easel painting – figurative painting, landscape, portrait. Since 1960 – a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. Since 1954 he takes part in republican and all-Union exhibitions. He held many personal exhibitions. Honored Artist of Ukraine since 1996. In 2009, Anatoly Shkurko was awarded the title of "National Artist of Ukraine." His works are represented in the Chernigiv Art Museum, galleries and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
