ABOUT THE ARTIST: Lopata Vasyl Ivanovich – was born on 28th of April, 1941 in Nova Basan village, Chernihiv region. Ukrainian artist, graphic artist. He studied at the Kyiv State Art Institute. Mentors: Kasiyan V. I., Deregus M. Since 1971 – a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Since 2001 – National Artist of Ukraine. He participated in the creation of banknotes of Ukraine, he performed portraits of historical figures and monuments of the country`s architecture and landscapes. The artist`s works are kept in the National Museum in Kyiv, and museums in Chernigiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy. Some of the works are kept in the Library of Congress in Washington, in the Ukrainian Museum of the City of New York, the Museum at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Rome, the Pushkin Apartment Museum in St. Petersburg, in private collections in Russia, Britain, Canada, USA.
