This is an excellent example of a Japanese porcelain Charger or large plate with a finely hand painted design decorated with a light under-glaze green border, then hand painted over-glaze in a wide palette of colors including a light cobalt blue, red, yellow, green , all in different shades and with rich gilding throughout. The pattern has a central brocade design then four main panels around the plate. Within these panels are mixture of landscape features including mountains, trees and flying birds, with the other panels having further birds by a stream with floweres .
