This Modernist Gerhard Herbst Studio Bangle is hand constructed from two individually hand forged components. Measuring 1/2''at its widest point, this bangle will fit wrist sizes from 6 1/2'' to 7 1/8'' This particular work is a showroom sample which has been in our archives since its production in the mid 1990s.

Modernist designer, Gerhard Herbst translates sculptural form into the jewelry medium. Popularly known for his spatial shapes and fluid manipulations of metal, Herbst began producing his unique style of jewelry in 1975. Herbst continued to study both sculpture and jewelry design at San Diego State University, and upon graduating he established his jewelry studio in Ocean Beach California. Adopting a wholesale manufacturing business model, Herbst would reproduce designs which he would then sell to leading museum shops and galleries throughout the United States. Although no edition numbers were set, total production was limited as each piece was individually and personally handcrafted by the artist.
