This 20" x 16" stretched canvas holds a scene I have witnessed in Yellowstone National Park. The bison done is various temperatures of color against a harmonized blue with yellow along the bottom. The magpie and grouse are almost hidden as I play with the values in the painting. I used acrylic and other forms of mark making to create my work. I have had several art residencies at Yellowstone and it is my favorite place to go for inspiration. The Bison always strike me as a magnificent animal with such power and presence.
