1 3/4" high
Base is 7" diameter
Enamel fused arg glass decorative plate
Kiln formed powdered glass enamel decoration
Orange circle center in yellow circle
Thin orange circle around yellow circle
White wavy lines radiating from the outer orange circle -pinwheel design
Sunburst design
Signed with M.H. in the enamel of one of the radiating lines
Artist etched initials
Slumped

He grew up with 2 generations of glass artists
He first worked with his father Clement on stained glass windows
He went out on his own during the Depression
He began experimenting and working with flat and molded glass in the 1930's
He experimented with enameling in glass
He invented a process of fusing crystals of enamel in glass surfaces-glass enamel ornamentation
He was known for colors and textures in his work
He is known for creating designs in glazes and powdered enamels on flat glass that he slumped into iron molds of his own making
This helped start the Studio Glass movement of the 1960's
His work slammed 7 decades
His work is in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Corning Museum, other museums, public and private collections
