Description
Harrison Gilman's work is conjured from the subconscious. Each painting begins with fast-paced gestural abstraction. Some of his paintings remain purely abstract, while others develop into flowing compositions of deliberate characters, shapes, and symbols.
Harrison Gilman is based in Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Filmmaking, a minor in Art History, and a minor in the Business of Entertainment. While attending film school, Harrison began to paint. By the time he graduated, Gilman was accepted into his first group show and had committed to being a painter.
Gilman's work was first displayed in the 2018 We Rise Art Fair in Los Angeles alongside Shepard Fairey and other prominent LA artists. The following year, Gilman had his first solo show at Galerie Tangerine in Nashville, TN, which continues to be the most successful show at the gallery to date. Since then, Gilman has had three solo shows and various group shows, as well as a series of live painting events. His art can be found in private collections in Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, Scottsdale, Toronto, and the UK.
