A very delicate and lovely early Vienna porcelain factory ecuelle bowl with cover
Ecuelle cups or bowls were used in the 18th century to serve broth or bouillon mostly in the bedroom or boudoir
The lid has an applied knob molded as a strawberry stalk
The bowl and the cover are expertly hand painted with vibrantly colored sprays and bouquets of flowers
Two beautiful scrolled handles
Very exquisite work altogether
It was produced in Vienna, Austria by the Imperial and Royal Porcelain Manufactory
Bears the cobalt blue under glaze Bindenschild, aka beehive / shield mark, used between 1749 - 1770, incised number 7 (date indicator) and a hand written number 13 (decorator's signature). This likely dates it to the year 1756
