Details:

Forrest J. Ackerman autographed 8 x 10" glossy photograph featuring the famed editor and collector kneeling beside Lon Chaney’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star while holding a copy of Famous Monsters of Filmland. Boldly inscribed in red ink along the right margin, “Monstrously good wishes from Forry Ackerman.” The verso is additionally signed and inscribed by his wife, Wendayne Wahrman Ackerman, in blue ink, “Glad to meet you, Warren—Wendayne Wahrman Ackerman.” A wonderful dual-signed piece from the “father of science fiction fandom.”

Forrest J. Ackerman (1916–2008) was a legendary figure in science fiction, fantasy, and horror fandom. As editor of Famous Monsters of Filmland, he inspired generations of readers and filmmakers including Steven Spielberg and Stephen King. A passionate collector, Ackerman amassed one of the world’s largest archives of genre memorabilia. His wife, Wendayne Ackerman, was a noted translator and science fiction advocate in her own right.
