Theodore Van Kirk (1921–2014) was a United States Army Air Forces officer who served as the navigator aboard the B-29 Enola Gay during World War II. He was responsible for navigation and flight planning on long-range bombing missions in the Pacific Theater, including the August 6, 1945 atomic mission to Hiroshima, Japan. After the war, Van Kirk completed his military service and pursued a civilian career while remaining active in historical discussions surrounding World War II aviation. He is remembered as a key participant in one of the most consequential missions in military history.
