James Van Pelt Jr. autographed original U.S. Army Air Forces aerial reconnaissance 8 x 10 inch photograph documenting post-atomic bomb damage assessment over Nagasaki, Japan. Fine condition.

James Van Pelt served as a captain in the 393rd Bombardment Squadron of the 509th Composite Group. He flew in the Great Artiste as a navigator during the mission to bomb Hiroshima. Days later, he flew to Nagasaki as the navigator of Bockscar.
