Fred Olivi, B-29 pilot, signed First Day of Issue Canadian cover commemorating World War II (1939–1945), issued November 10, 1989. The cover features wartime imagery and Canadian postage, postmarked Ottawa, Ontario, on the official day of issue. Fred Olivi signed the cover with a handwritten inscription identifying his role as copilot aboard Bockscar during the Nagasaki atomic bomb mission of August 9, 1945.

Fred J. Olivi (1916–2005) was a United States Army Air Forces officer who served as copilot of the B-29 Bockscar on the Nagasaki atomic bomb mission, the second atomic strike of World War II. He later became one of the most prominent firsthand chroniclers of the mission, authoring accounts that documented the operational and historical details of the flight. Olivi remained closely associated with public history and education related to the atomic missions.
