Eliza A. Dupuy autographed handwritten letter dated November 24, 1870, written from Hermitage Bay and addressed to “Dear Mrs. Farley.” The letter conveys warm Christmas wishes and expresses the hope for “many happy returns of the season,” signed clearly at the conclusion “Eliza A. Dupuy.”
Light, even age toning and scattered minor spotting.
Eliza A. Dupuy (1814–1881) was a Southern novelist and poet best known for her works of historical fiction and domestic novels popular in the mid-19th century. Her correspondence is increasingly scarce, particularly signed examples dated after the Civil War.
