This image was captured during the Approach and Landing Test (ALT) program—an essential series of developmental flights conducted in 1977 to evaluate the aerodynamics and landing characteristics of the Shuttle orbiter. Fitz Fulton, a revered NASA and USAF test pilot, flew the SCA on many of these landmark missions. His colleagues—engineers and pilots Vince Alvarez, Ray Young, Vic Horton, A.J. Roy, and Skip Guidry—were instrumental in preparing the Shuttle for operational service. A rare signed artifact commemorating the dawn of the Space Shuttle era.
