Tom Ferebee autographed First Day Cover featuring the 1979 Albert Einstein 15¢ stamp, postmarked Princeton, NJ, March 4, 1979. Ferebee has inscribed, “Bombardier – Enola Gay 6 Aug 1945” alongside the iconic mushroom cloud artwork and Einstein’s equation, E=MC². A striking piece linking the scientific theory behind atomic energy with the historic mission that brought World War II to an end.

Tom Ferebee (1918–2000) served as the bombardier aboard the Enola Gay, the B-29 that dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. A decorated U.S. Air Force officer, Ferebee flew over 60 combat missions and later worked in strategic air operations during the Cold War.
