Thomas Ferebee, World War II veteran, autographed First Day of Issue Canadian cover commemorating World War II (1939–1945), issued November 10, 1989. The cover features Canadian wartime imagery and postage honoring the establishment of the Allied convoy system, postmarked Ottawa, Ontario, on the official day of issue. Ferebee has added a handwritten inscription identifying himself as a Colonel, USAF (Ret.), dated December 9, 1989.

Thomas Wilson Ferebee (1918–2000) was a United States Army Air Forces officer who served as the bombardier aboard the B-29 Enola Gay during the Hiroshima atomic mission on August 6, 1945. He was responsible for arming and releasing the first atomic weapon used in warfare, a role that placed him at the center of one of the most consequential events of the 20th century. Ferebee later continued his career in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of colonel. In later years, he participated in historical and veteran-related commemorations documenting the legacy of the atomic missions and the closing chapter of World War II.
