William H. Rehnquist autographed 6 x 9” black-and-white photograph depicting a formal portrait of the Supreme Court Justice. The photograph is signed in blue ink along the lower margin. Accompanied by an autographed typed letter on Supreme Court of the United States letterhead dated February 6, 1989, sent from the Chambers of Justice William J. Brennan, Jr., returning the signed photograph following an autograph request.

William H. Rehnquist (1924–2005) served on the United States Supreme Court from 1972 to 2005, first as Associate Justice and later as Chief Justice from 1986 until his death. Appointed by President Richard Nixon, Rehnquist became a leading conservative voice on the Court. As Chief Justice, he presided over significant constitutional cases and oversaw the Court during a period of major legal and political change. His tenure left a lasting impact on modern interpretations of federalism and judicial authority.
