Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was a leading figure in the Pop Art movement, known for his vibrant prints and paintings of celebrities and everyday objects. Born Andrew Warhola to Czechoslovakian immigrants in Pittsburgh, he studied art at the Carnegie Institute of Technology before moving to New York City, where he became a successful commercial illustrator and window designer. Warhol's work examined the intersection of advertising, celebrity culture, and artistic expression.
