Description
This is a very interesting piece that came from the consignor as a bringback piece. Consignor’s father was a Pearl Harbor Veteran that had a lot of interesting items in his personal collection, and this was one of them. This is an Eterna Pocket Watch with the reverse side intricately designed and marked “Kriegsmarine / U 199 / Kiel”. Kiel served as a primary Naval Base and HQ for the Kriegsmarine during World War II. Inside the case there are a lot of markings, and hallmarks. Amongst these you will find a Eagle/M stamp, a Eagle/1943 stamp, the German Silver Marking of “800” and other various stamps including what looks like Handcarved initials and/or unit markings. The face is marked “Eterna” and “FAB.SUISSE” at the bottom. This is a very nice piece with probably a lot of amazing history. The pocket watch winds and ticks and is in very good condition with honest wear. Buyer be your own judge of authenticity on this nice piece.
